amelia erica dupree was born on october 12th, 1981 to her single mother, sandra. amelia's biological father, eric, had died from leukemia just two months before his second child's birth - a fate he had been aware of for some time before that. of course, it left sandra devastated to the point where going on without him seemed like an impossibility. the only presence that eric left for his daughter and his first son were a series of journals chronicling sandra's pregnancy and life lessons he intended on sharing with his children regardless of his death. sandra clung to his memory through amelia mostly - babying her and spoiling her with every affection she was capable of. while some construed her as overbearing and protective, sandra was never going to let anything affect her children. amelia grew up on the naive-side of childhood while her brother most certainly did not. while she was sent to an all-girls private academy from middle school on, and was scheduled so strictly she barely had time to socialize, her brother was often times neglected by her mother and ignored. it caused animosity between the two - one that still reigns to this day. amelia, however, followed the instructions of her long-passed father and concentrated on what made her the most happy in her life. her mother attempted to bottle up her attention into alternative activities - usually concentrating around academic tournaments and philanthropy, even as a child. amelia, who was extremely close to her mother, didn't protest. she took whatever tasks her mother supplied for her and excelled at them, just to push them out of the way and move on with her life. of course, there was always another hurdle to jump in her life, and soon amelia was being put up for more than she bargained for at a time. she was at her mother's whim - excelling just to make her happy and get her off her back . )
